There is no better time of year to reveal this black kept secret. February, the shortest month of the year but also the boldest. Allow me to introduce you to a woman so fearless and unapologetically black; An infamous black female entrepreneur. Cyntay Mathews, the black Supermom, dedicated to creating a sense of awareness in her community as it pertains to our history and culture. Cyntay was born May 3rd in Atlanta, GA. She was an Army kid no brat though. She was raised to be independent and a very hard workingwoman. Her mother did prior service in the army and her father a marine corp veteran.
Motivated by her son, grandparents and the intent on building a nation, and providing an extended family for her son. Cyntay has created a clothing brand, ‘Royal Writes’, that is worth taking a second peek at. During 9/11 Cyntay worked on an Army base in New Jersey and was also highly recruited by the FBI during her stint. Her memory was constantly jogged with visions of Suddam Hussein and the threatening terrorist attacks during that time period. All of these experiences and more shaped her opinion on the history of African American culture and how it affects the economy today.
Royal Writes is Cyntay’s voice to her son and to the African American community. She wants the world to understand they have a right to know their history. Every design on each t-shirt tells a story of African American history in an attempt to open our eyes to what many shut out for years or just have never been exposed to.
Cyntay says, “I know that I am Royally written here in America. To understand your history, identify and stand firm in what you believe in is a powerful thing.”
In five years Royal Writes is expected to be a known brand company with advertisements on local billboards and more.
