Christopher Clark is not only a partner in business but we have actually known each other for quite sometime. We attended middle school and high school together at Florida High School in Tallahassee, FL. He was always drawing pictures and over achieving in art class. Born November 21, 1987 in Newark, NJ. I thought he was from Jamaica when I met him as a child because his whole family had dread locs. I automatically assumed simply because I was ignorant. Chris has engaged in all types of work before becoming a full time artist. Most of the jobs he had made his life and I quote 'completely miserable' besides the one job he had working with underprivileged kids, teaching the art of music production and song writing.
Chris started his company " Cooli Ras Art" to promote his artistic abilities. He has written and illustrated a children's book inspired by his oldest daughter called Glonda's Hair in which I cannot wait to purchase after it has been officially published. The name Cooli Ras is a nickname he came up with for himself a few years ago. Chris grew up Rasta, and elder Rasta men would go by Ras and then their name, like Ras Chris; and all his life everyone has always told him how cool he was so he just put the two together and came up with “Cooli Ras”. A funny thing is he met a Jamaican born artist who asked him about his name one day and taught him something he never knew. The name “Cooli” is actually how they refer to Indian Jamaicans. So the whole time she was trying to figure out if he was part Indian. lol
Chris is so awesome that I had to ask him some questions to get some answers on how to be great. Below I have let you all in on my exclusive interview with Chris 'Cooli Ras' Clark. Please like, comment, share, and support a starving artist!!
