Believe in this rhyme as a Goddesses divine commandment; Believe in this rhyme because the revival of our race demands it.

In an era where black female leadership is now a necessity to society it is my honor to share this poem and introduce a blunt yet comical poet. It is no better time to help empower young black girls to become dominant leaders in the community. Women are seen as lovable and compassionate but its time to be fierce and bold. The beautiful Ms. Donique Aaliyah, describes the epitome of that black powerful woman in her poetry. Since the 8th grade she has been a published poet showcasing her talent for Duval County Student Writers. She is a poet who is motivated by pain and inspired by black excellence and prevailing in the black experience. Her favorite poet of course is a personal favorite Lauryn Hill who is currently on tour again :). During our interview Donique said something that I needed to hear. To all closet poets out there if you are struggling with opening up her advice is 'Go for it! Put it on paper and say it to someone.'
