Have you ever met a black man that couldn’t keep a job? He lives with other women, never had a place in his name? Never owned a vehicle…always in somebody else car? Do you know a black man that look to his mom to take care of HIS kids? Have you ever met a black man that couldn’t stay committed to finishing the campaign mode of Call of Duty or World of War craft let alone a relationship? Can I continue?
WHO DO WE BLAME? There is no way that I have no black male friends that are making over 29k a year, own there own home, own there own car, have a job they have been on for more than a year, or that have a degree. It’s not their fault huh? We blame the prison system, the neighborhoods they grew up in, and the absence of a father figure, their mothers, and the women they get into intimate relationships with. I blame them too, however more importantly I blame themselves.
Most of my black male friends are in relationships that don’t require them to hold their own weight. Women will allow a man with no job to be their boyfriend. Why? What can anybody without a job do for somebody else? Absolutely nothing! I can’t take care of myself without a job so what makes you think I’m going to succeed in a relationship where I have to take care of another person. If I was jobless and carless and I get into a relationship with someone with a car and a job now I can potentially keep this person from being successful because in areas where I fall short now I need that person to be at my beck and call. It’s a cycle that we have yet to break because we don’t have standards.
Black men please stop using women to come up in your life where you have forever fallen short. Stop using excuses like the system or the fact that you didn’t have parents or you grew up in bad neighborhoods etc. My granddaddy started a business with an 8th grade education. If he can do that then you can think of something to do besides selling drugs and raising your kids to do the same.
The world needs more leaders. More people willing to make a change and see fit to improve society starting with our men. For year’s women have been the glue that keeps families together and we are steadily cleaning up the mess men leave around and I mean that figuratively and literally.
