Peanuts! Peanuts! Get your peanuts! That’s a common phrase at many ball games. You’ll be surprised at the amount of creativity you can put into creating a tasty boiled peanut. It reminds you of that scene in the movie Forest Gump where Bubba was educating Forest on all the different types of shrimp. With flavors like Garlic, Teriyaki, Spicy BBQ, Original, and spicy, who knew you could make different flavored peanuts?
Ronisha ‘Ro’ Mitchell of a small Florida town called Wildwood decided she wanted to change the way people eat first starting with the peanut. Ro and I went to college together and played basketball. She came to me with the idea after college while we were roommates. She storms in the house one day after out looking for work and says, “I want to start my own business. I want to work in the food industry!” You know me I’m excited for her immediately with just a simple thought of being an entrepreneur. At the time Ro did not have the tools needed to start a business but she was determined. She purchased books, she did research, she invested and now she’s a business owner.
Two years after she told me that Ro started Mitchell's Company, which is the parent company name to Mitchell's Boiled Peanuts; the brand she is currently working on. Ro chose this name because it’s her last name. “This is something that I can leave on this earth once I am dead and gone to be remembered forever.” The goals of Mitchell’s company will be aligned to partner with distribution outlets like Aramark, Centerplate, & Delaware North. Ro would also like to position Mitchell’s Boiled Peanuts products in sporting arenas across the south!
I had a short interview session with Ro and I thought that I would share with you some key points to help you out if you were thinking about starting a business.
